1964 Fuyo Development Co., Ltd. developed a technology for manufacturing obsidian lightweight aggregates
1970 This business was taken over by the Fuyo Lite Dept. of Vacuum Concrete Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Fuyo Development Co., Ltd.
Obtained a permit to mine obsidian by a gallery mining method at No. 1105 Compartment, Higashimata National Forest, Shimosuwa-machi, Suwa-gun, Nagano Prefecture
1971 Built the Suwa Plant in Toyohashi, Shimosuwa-machi, Suwa-gun, Nagano Prefecture, and put the plant into operation
1973 Spun off from Vacuum Concrete Co., Ltd. Established Fuyo Lite Co., Ltd.
1976 Obtained a permit for quarrying on its own in Nagano Prefecture based on the Quarrying Law
1979 Built the Suwa Plant No. 2. Introduced the industry’s first external-heat kiln (Kiln No. 1)
1980 Relocated the head office to Iwamoto-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo
Certified as an "excellent heat-insulation building material" by the Minister of International Trade and Industry
1985 Divided the marketing function into the two divisions of “Building Materials” and “Tree-Planting”
