Advanced Battery Materials Department

The Advanced Battery Materials Department (ABM), established in 2009 through integration of sections dealing with battery materials within the Showa Denko Group, aims to provide society with advanced battery materials for the next generation. The department now handles lithium-ion secondary battery materials and carbon components for fuel cells.

In the area of lithium-ion secondary batteries, we provide anode materials (SCMGTM), carbon nanotube (VGCFTM), and carbon-coating foils (SDXTM). As for fuel cells, we provide carbon-based separators and collectors. We aim to provide values to customers through R&D, support of trial manufacture, provision of evaluation technology and stable supply of products.

ABM aims to merge base technologies pertaining to battery materials, develop key technologies through technical integration, and create innovative technologies that fulfill social needs.

To help realize an eco-friendly and low-carbon society, ABM will serve as a pioneer in the filed of environmental protection, resource, and energy. We will fulfill social needs by creating innovative technologies through evolution of battery-related base technologies.
