Company History

1937	Nov.		The company was established as Riken Kohaku Kogyo Co.,Ltd.for the purpose of manufacture and sales of plasticized amber and applied products.
1939	Feb.		The corporate name was changed to Riken Synthetic Resin Co.,Ltd.reflecting a shift to the manufacture and sale of synthetic resins and applied puroduts.
	Oct.		Takasaki Factory opened
1953	Oct.		Succseeded in the first commercial production of unsaturated polyester in Japan.
1961	Oct.		Listed on the Second Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1965	Sept.		Succseeded in the first commercial production of vinyl ester resin in Japan.
1969	May.		Isesaki Factory opened
	Nov.		The corporate name was changed after a merger with Highpolymer Chemical Industries
1971	Sept.		Tatsuno Factory opened
1985	Mar.		The company merged with Showa Union Gosei Co.,Ltd.
1987	Sept.		Promoted to the First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1997	May.		Eternal Showa Highpolymer Co.,Ltd. was established in Thailand.
2000	Jul.		Shanghai Showa Highpolymer Co.,Ltd. was established in China.
