Showa Denko is promoting R&D to create new products, taking full advantage of the interconnections of inorganic, metal, polymer, and organic chemical technologies. The Research & Development Headquarters, with the Corporate R&D Center as its core, is engaged in corporate-level R&D. In addition to new product development, the Research & Development Headquarters is also developing technologies common to all sectors, such as analysis and computational science.

To commercialize the fruit of R&D efforts, it is very important for the R&D section to work closely with the production technology section. The Research & Development Headquarters therefore aims to create new “individualized products” through close cooperation with the Production Technology Headquarters.
