SDK Strengthens Ties with Honda Racing F1 Team

August 22, 2007

—Providing High-Performance Aluminum Radiators as Technical Partner—

Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) is strengthening its ties with the Honda Racing F1 Team by assuming the role of a technical partner and providing aluminum radiators with higher performance and lighter weight. The relationship began in 2004 when SDK began supplying its aluminum radiators for installation in the team’s Formula One cars which race at the pinnacle of global motorsport.

F1 cars are thoroughly customized to increase speed to the utmost limit. Thus, the radiators supplied by SDK are fabricated precisely to suit the specific chassis and engine developed for each new season. This year, the Honda Racing F1 Team is racing with the RA107 car and SDK is supplying light-weight aluminum radiators intricately fabricated to suit the design requirements of that car. Furthermore, SDK has assumed the role of a technical partner in radiator supply, providing full support to the team.

This year, the Honda F1 cars are racing to raise environmental awareness and feature a distinctive planet earth livery. By visiting the team’s myearthdream.com website, fans can make a lifestyle pledge and an optional donation to the team’s charitable trust. As a partner, SDK is supporting the team’s activities, fully agreeing with that message.

For the Japanese Grand Prix to be held on September 28-30 at the Fuji Speedway, Shizuoka Prefecture, for the Chinese Grand Prix scheduled for October 5-7 at the Shanghai International circuit, and for the Brazilian Grand Prix scheduled for October 19-21 at Interlagos in Sao Paulo, the Honda Racing F1 Team’s race drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello will be wearing race suits featuring the logo of SDK.
