In addition, "multi-materialization" has become a keyword in materials development to realize weight reduction or high strength by the combined use of dissimilar materials such as resins and metals.
Based on our material technologies and interface control technologies of both resins and metals, we have developed a film-type bonding technology that is easy to use and provides strong bonding of dissimilar materials.

What is WelQuickTM

WelQuickTM is a film-type novel bonding technology that delivers both simplicity and adhesive properties.

WelQuickTM does not require a long cure time like conventional adhesives by taking advantage of the phase change between solid and liquid to enable instant bonding simply by welding the film. Furthermore, it does not require special surface treatment such as oxidation as long as the surface of the material is clean and free of dust.

Based on our strong points in a wide range of material technologies such as metals and resins, WelQuickTM also delivers strong adhesive strength even when bonding various combinations of dissimilar materials.

In addition, WelQuickTM can be applied by various welding methods. We can recommend effective bonding solutions to our customers by combining methods that suit their needs.

Basic properties

Quick bonding

WelQuickTM takes advantage of the phase change of the film material between solid and liquid to enable bonding in just a few seconds simply by sandwiching and then welding the film.
No VOCs are scattered during the bonding since no VOCs are used.
In addition, WelQuickTM film can be stored for a long time at room temperature.

Short-process and short-time solution

WelQuickTM solves a wide range of problems for customers when using conventional bonding methods, including controlling the application conditions of adhesive, handling of liquids, time restrictions for bonding, and long cure time.

Strong bonding of a diverse range of dissimilar materials

WelQuickTM can be used to bond a variety of dissimilar or similar materials alike, including various resins (PC, PBT, PA, PPS, PMMA, ABS etc.) and metals (Al, Fe, Cu, etc.) in resin–metal, resin–resin, and metal–metal combinations.
By leveraging our strong points in a wide range of material technologies for metals and resins, we have developed a method for strong adhesive bonding between dissimilar materials.

WelQuickTM also delivers excellent toughness and maintains high bonding strength even under severe external stresses such as bending.

Repeated adhesive strength test for steel/steel bonding (recyclability and repairability)

After bonding, WelQuickTM can be peeled off by high temperature such as 200°C heating, and repeated bonding can be achieved by the same process.
This property realizes recycling and reworking of the bonded materials.

WelQuickTM provides excellent water-resistance and durability under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions for a long time.

WelQuickTM delivers greater adhesive strength compared to conventional hot melt adhesives and also provides excellent heat-resistance.

Wide variety of welding methods

WelQuickTM can be applied by a wide variety of welding methods, including ultrasonic welding due to its excellent bonding speed, and high-frequency induction welding with metals. It can be also applied by heat welding with a simple heating device such as a clothes iron set at 180°C.
We can recommend specific welding methods according to the needs of customers.
